Last Tuesday, Tony deBrum, former foreign minister of the Marshall Islands, died at the age of 72. De Brum was known throughout the world as one of the key voices in the war against climate change, global warming and for nuclear disarmament, having seen their influences from his home in the Marshall Islands. He is one of the people responsible for the Paris Agreement and the initiator of many activities on these issues, including the People Climate March in New York in 2014, in which I took part.
I give my regards to his wife and children, and to all the people of the Marshall Islands for the loss of a national hero, and an international hero who has spent his whole life doing everything to give us all a better world.
