Rani Rahav, Honorary Consul of Marshall Islands in Israel, held a reception cocktail for ministers and ambassadors at his residence

Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Israel, Ran Rahav, and his wife Hila held a traditional Shabbat dinner at their residence in the town of Savyon, in honor of the UN Pacific countries ambassadors who are visiting Israel as guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the Jewish American Committee.
The guest list included, among others, Ehud Barak, Israeli Minister of Defense and former 10th Prime Minister and 14th IDF Chief of Staff, and wife Nili Priel Barak, Minister of Construction and Housing, Ze’ev Boim, and wife Edna, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, Tzachi Hanegbi, and spouse Randi, Israeli actress Gila Almagor and husband Yaakov Agmon, Ministry of Defense Ceremony Conductor, Itzik Eldan, Ministry of Defense Vice President for Asia and the Pacific, Ruth Kahanov, and Roving Ambassador of the Pacific countries, Michael Ronen.
At the table were ambassadors of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, Tonga, Palau, Fiji, Independent State of Samoa, Vanuatu and Nauru; and the member of the American Congress Eni Faleomavaega, representing American Samoa.
The dinner began with a the Jewish grace of Kiddush, after which guests were served with delicacies of the Jewish-Israeli kitchen, such as chopped liver, eggplant salad with tehini, stuffed vegetables, and for desert: a traditional Middle Eastern knafeh
Minister of Defense Ehud Barak expressed his gratitude to the ambassadors for their countries’ ongoing support of Israel in the UN. The Minister of Construction and Housing Boim said that Israel truly appreciates the Pacific countries’ support. The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee Tzachi Hanegbi thanked the ambassadors as well. The Pacific ambassadors praised the State of Israel and promised their countries’ continued support of Israel.
