I share in the sorrow of the Marshallese people following the fire that broke out and destroyed the House of Democracy - the Parliament building of the Marshall Islands.
This building stands as a symbol of a young and strong democracy, and I am confident that President Hilda Heine and Speaker Brenson Wase will act swiftly to address the matter and find an alternative solution.
My respect goes to the brave firefighters who contained the blaze, and I am greatly relieved that there were no casualties.
